The Role

As the Transport Supervisor, you'll oversee the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Working closely with the Head of Fleet, you'll lead drivers, coordinate transport schedules, manage subcontractors and help keep the fleet operating at peak performance.

This role would also suit candidates with experience as a Fleet Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Transport Planner, Fleet Controller, Transport Operations Supervisor or Logistics Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules and vehicle routing.
Manage and support company drivers and subcontracted transport providers.
Optimise routes to improve fleet utilisation and reduce operating costs.
Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation, driver regulations and Health & Safety standards.
Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates and resolve transport queries.
Monitor transport performance, delivery KPIs and fleet efficiency.
Produce reports on fleet utilisation, costs and operational performance.
Maintain accurate transport records and compliance documentation.
Work with senior management to identify and implement continuous improvements.

About You

You'll have previous experience in a Transport Supervisor, Fleet Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, Transport Planner, Fleet Controller or similar transport and logistics role.

You'll also have:

Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance.
Experience managing drivers, fleet operations and daily transport planning.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Confidence using Microsoft Office and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
The ability to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

Transport Manager CPC.
Driver CPC or HGV licence.

Experience with in equipment hire, events, facilities management or specialist logistics.
Knowledge of fleet telematics, GPS tracking and transport planning software.
