We are seeking a passionate and focused Senior level Building Surveyor who is looking to progress their career, working in an established team based in Cheltenham on national and local commissions. Sectors are varied and include public buildings and estates, residential and housing, education, retail, healthcare, and commercial. • Client management and contract administration/practice duties
• Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of residential, commercial properties and educational facilities
• Carry out building and condition surveys
• Provide advice on buildings conforming to the latest building regulations and technical standards
• Take particulars on site, write up specifications, obtain tenders, plan maintenance programmes and administer contracts for maintenance work
• Analyse and report on building defects
• Handle claims and negotiations with loss adjusters leading to the preparation of drawings and specifications for remedial work for insurance purposes
• Prepare schedules of dilapidations
• Undertake the role of quality monitor on various schemes including housing schemes
• Lead and manage teams preparing designs for extensions, refurbishment schemes and new build developments ranging from £50k to £4m
• Notices, Schedules of Condition and Awards for Party Wall matters
• Leading projects and often coordinating in-house multi discipline design services
• Client management and development
• Supervising, managing and mentoring junior members of the building surveying team
• Technical reviews to manage the quality of our services

• MRICS
• Consultancy experience
• Capable of managing individual team members, organising their work where necessary and providing guidance on projects
• Good communication and client facing skills
• Excellent all-round technical building surveying knowledge
• An analytical mind with a high level of intellect - combining excellent written and oral skills to produce considered and robust reports and recommendations
