Overview of the Position

Assist the department manager with immediate business needs, provide general office administrative support, coordinate projects and events, and help the office run smoothly through effective organization and attention to detail. Responsibilities include the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • General office support duties such as filing, retrieving paper documents or parts, form processing, maintaining office supplies and equipment, and assisting with office documentation as needed.
  • Data entry and database maintenance as required.
  • Safeguarding proprietary engineering information.
  • Following department procedures.
  • Perform any other office duties as directed or may be assigned.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good typing ability, both speed and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with co‑workers, other departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Extremely detail oriented, organized, and able to recognize priorities.
  • Highly efficient with strong multi‑tasking and time‑management skills.
Education / Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Frequently required to talk or listen.
