Job Summary:

We are seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position:
Associate Director of Football Athletic Performance
. The position is housed in the athletics department and reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance, working with the Director of Football Performance and several Division I sports as assigned. The Associate Director will design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of the Athletic Performance Program, educate and monitor assigned sport teams, and collaborate with relevant departments within a shared facility.

The role will inform and educate assigned sport staffs about strength and conditioning policies and procedures, and collaborate with the Athletic Training staff on the coverage plan and emergency medical procedures for on- and off-season conditioning and lifting. • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 2 years of experience in collegiate Strength & Conditioning or a related area with commensurate experience.
• Possess one of the following certifications:
• CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) – National Strength & Conditioning Association
• SCCC (Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified) – Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association

First Aid/CPR/AED certified within the first 30 days of employment. Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that supports universal access for students, faculty, staff, and the public.

• Master’s Degree in a related field.
• 1 – 3 years of collegiate experience as a strength coach at the NCAA Division I level.
• Experience with a strength & conditioning program in the Big Sky Conference or equivalent.
• Experience working with a collegiate football team.
• Certifications:
  
  USAW – Level 1 or FMS – Level 1.

• Assist with the overall development of the athletic performance program.
• Design, implement, and supervise athletic performance programs in designated sports.
• Facilitate learning of proper lifting, spotting and safety techniques.
• Keep current records of all student-athletes training on a quarterly basis.
• Develop communication system and schedule with the Athletic Training staff for updates on training ability and injuries.
• Assist in developing summer and off-season programs; maintain records and supervision.
• Communicate problems, issues and program improvement ideas to the Head Coach.
• Meet with Head Coaches to assess needs and assist in planning programs.

Percent of Time: 80% — Demonstrate knowledge of NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules as they apply to training athletic teams and individuals (in-season and out-of-season).

Percent of Time: 5% — Learn and research team and individual conditioning training activities.

Percent of Time: 5% — Supervise graduate assistants, work-study students, and/or student volunteers.

Percent of Time: 5% — Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.

• Travel is required a minimum of ten (10) nights per year for conferences and events.

This is an Administrative Exempt position and is covered by EWU policies on exempt employment. After starting, employees will complete required training via Canvas, and the Office of Employee Belonging, Development, and Leadership will coordinate Workplace Belonging training.
