A Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) for dental operations leads billing, collections, credentialing, and denial management to maximize collections and financial performance across multi-site dental practices.
About the Role
Position:
Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management (Dental)
Core Focus:
Overseeing end-to-end dental billing operations, payer relations, fee schedule optimization, and accounts receivable (A/R) efficiency.
Key Goal:
Reduce claim denials, accelerate cash flow, and scale infrastructure for multi-location dental organizations.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Design and execute enterprise RCM strategies, policies, and standard operating procedures tailored to dental and oral surgery billing.
Operations Oversight: Manage daily functions including patient eligibility verification, claims submission, payment posting, and complex denial management.
A/R Optimization: Monitor aging reports, reduce average days in A/R, and improve clean claim submission rates.
Technology & Automation: Implement and optimize dental practice management software, electronic dental records (EDR), and AI-driven automation workflows.
Payer Contracting: Collaborate with executive leadership on commercial dental insurance negotiations, fee schedules, and network participation.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations, state dental board rules, and third-party payer guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years of progressive healthcare or dental revenue cycle experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or enterprise transformation role.
Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of dental-specific billing codes (CDT codes), insurance adjudication, and multi-site group practice operations.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Advanced fluency in dental practice management analytics, reporting tools, and electronic billing clearinghouses.
Preferred Skills
Certifications:
Industry credentials such as Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) or Certified Dental Biller (CPB) are preferred.
