Who are we looking for:
We are currently seeking passionate Physical Education (PE) teachers to join our team as a dedicated Subject Matter Expert for PE, working with children aged 10 to 16, as part of our continued growth and development efforts. Hiring for the Academic Year , the ideal candidate must be organised and capable of fostering innovative and engaging learning experiences within available resources.
Creating a holistic, inquiry-based environment, the candidate will instil thoughtful and ethical behaviour, ensuring the IB Learner profile values guide the heart of learning in our school.
Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the MYP PHE curriculum, including its objectives, key concepts, and global contexts.
Foster students' curiosity by incorporating inquiry-based learning into lessons and providing real-world connections to PHE concepts.
Implement a variety of assessment strategies aligned with MYP criteria, ensuring a balance between formative and summative assessments.
Maintain meticulous documentation of student progress, utilising MYP approaches to learning skills and reflecting the development of ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills in PHE.
Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
Collaborate with the IB Coordinators and Learning Support team to address individual student learning needs.
Facilitate and guide students through the MYP Personal Project, encouraging them to explore personal interests related to health and physical well-being.
Support students in developing research, organisational, and presentation skills through their Personal Project.
Collaborate with colleagues across different disciplines to create interdisciplinary units that promote a holistic understanding of health and well-being.
Integrate MYP global contexts to broaden students' perspectives and foster an appreciation for international-mindedness.
Engage with the broader school community by organising health and wellness initiatives, seminars, and events.
Promote the importance of physical and mental well-being through partnerships with parents and the local community.
Skills and
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Master’s degree preferred.
Teachers with 1 to 3 years of experience in teaching physical education will be preferred.
Teaching certification/license in Physical and Health Education or equivalent.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Additional Information:
Job location is in Chetpet, Chennai. This is an on-site and full-time position.
School timings are from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm.
A laptop will be provided for school use only.
