EARLY YEARS PROGRAMME (EYP) FACILITATOR

The EYP Facilitator is responsible for planning, designing, and facilitating engaging, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning experiences aligned with the IB Early Years philosophy and the school's curriculum framework. The role requires strong collaboration skills, a nurturing approach, and the ability to create a safe and stimulating environment that supports the holistic development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning & Instruction

• Design, plan, and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning experiences that         promote inquiry, exploration, and play-based learning.

• Create engaging and differentiated learning opportunities that cater to the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of young learners.

• Prepare and maintain a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent learning.

• Integrate literacy, numeracy, language development, and foundational skills into meaningful learning experiences.

• Use ongoing observations, documentation, and assessments to inform planning and support individual student growth.

• Scaffold language development and communication skills to ensure accessibility for all learners.

• Foster student agency by encouraging choice, independence, and active participation in learning experiences.

• Promote learning through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences.

Student Development & Well-being

• Observe, monitor, and support students' cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language development.

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding progress and development.

• Recognize and celebrate diversity among individuals and groups.

• Promote positive behaviour, self-regulation, resilience, and emotional well-being.

• Foster a warm, caring, and inclusive classroom culture where every child feels valued and respected.

• Encourage creativity, imagination, problem-solving, and inquiry-based thinking.

• Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students at all times.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to plan, reflect upon, and enhance learning experiences.

• Support team initiatives and contribute positively to collaborative planning meetings.

• Work closely with parents and caregivers to build strong home-school partnerships that support student learning and well-being.

• Collaborate with specialists, coordinators, and support staff to meet the individual needs of students, including those requiring additional support.

• Participate actively in school events, assemblies, celebrations, field trips, and extracurricular activities.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Administration & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of student progress, observations, assessments, and attendance.
