Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Study Abroad Advisor role based in Chennai. The Study Abroad Advisor will guide prospective students through the entire overseas education journey, from initial interest to final enrollment. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing academic backgrounds and goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and programs. The role involves assisting students with application preparation, document review, timelines, and interview readiness, as well as coordinating with internal teams and external partners as needed.
The advisor will also provide structured guidance on student visa requirements and processes, offering clear instructions and checking for completeness and compliance. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate student records in internal systems, organizing or participating in information sessions and events, responding promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings, and staying up to date on international education trends, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.
Qualifications
Strong background in Educational Consulting and student-focused career or academic counseling.
Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Communication skills for working with students, families, and institutional partners.
Experience or familiarity with Visas and related documentation processes for international study.
Consulting skills, including needs assessment, solution-focused advising, and clear presentation of options.
Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to work on-site full time in Chennai, manage multiple student cases, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort using CRM tools or student management systems.
Prior experience in study abroad advising, higher education, or international education services is an advantage.
Proficiency in English; proficiency in regional languages is a plus.
