DESCRIPTION:
Alexa Excellence's Application Support Team (AXES) serves as Alexa's central defense against large-scale incidents while driving operational excellence across the entire Alexa organization. Our key offering is best-in-class engineering support that combines proactive incident prevention with rapid response capabilities. We are seeking a technical manager with strong leadership, technical acumen, and operational excellence skills to lead a team of passionate engineers responsible for supporting a wide range of Alexa ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with latest technologies, an intent to exercise creativity, and a drive for pushing the boundaries of existing solutions. This role uniquely combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic development initiatives, including building custom tools and automation solutions that enhance Alexa's support environment. You'll mentor and develop engineers while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
- Experience working with technical and business stakeholders from global cross-functional teams
- 7+ years of engineering team management in a fast-paced operations environment experience
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
- Experience improving and creating new processes and structure to achieve goals
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
- Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow, or experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets
