We’re looking for a Data Engineering Lead who can design, build, and scale the data infrastructure that powers Amura’s Health Tech platform.
This role is ideal for a hands-on data engineering leader who combines strong engineering depth with architectural thinking, ownership, and a desire to create meaningful human impact through data.
You will own the end-to-end data architecture from ingestion and processing to storage and analytics while leading a small team of data engineers and partnering closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and own scalable, reliable data architectures supporting analytics, reporting, and ML use cases.
Define standards for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access .
Choose and evolve the data stack (batch, streaming, lake / warehouse).
Balance performance, cost, and data freshness requirements.
Build and maintain robust ETL / ELT pipelines using modern tools and frameworks.
Design batch and near-real-time pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
Ensure data reliability, consistency, and performance lement data versioning, lineage, and metadata management .
Build data systems on AWS cloud platforms .
Partner with Dev Ops on IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, and cost optimization .
Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery for data systems.
Establish data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring .
Define and enforce data governance, access control, and privacy standards .
Collaborate with security teams on encryption, IAM, compliance, and auditing .
Lead, mentor, and review the work of data engineers .
Drive technical discussions, design reviews, and best practices.
Partner with product managers, analysts, and ML teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
Advocate for a strong data culture across the organization.
Requirements:
9–12+ years of experience in data engineering or backend/data platform roles .
Strong programming skills in Python and/or SQL (Scala/Java is a plus).
Deep experience building ETL / ELT pipelines and data platforms .
Strong understanding of:
Data modeling (star / snowflake, dimensional modeling)
Distributed data processing
Batch vs streaming architectures
Hands-on experience with AWS data services .
Experience with services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, EMR, Lambda, Kinesis , or equivalents.
Experience leading or mentoring engineers and owning technical outcomes .
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment .
