Junior ETL Tester

Job Summary:

We are looking for an ETL Tester with 1–3 years of experience to validate and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data integration processes across source and target systems. The role involves understanding ETL requirements, executing test cases, validating data transformations using SQL queries, and supporting testing activities throughout the data pipeline.

Required Technical

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and data comparison queries.
- Understanding of ETL processes, data mappings, and transformation logic.
- Experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing and Source-to-Target validation.
- Knowledge of data validation techniques and data reconciliation methods.
- Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Data Stage, or similar tools.

- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Test Rail, or ALM.
- Basic understanding of Data Warehouse concepts such as fact tables, dimension tables, star schema, and data marts.
- Experience in executing test cases, regression testing, and system integration testing.
- Ability to perform data quality checks including null validation, duplicate checks, and data consistency checks.
- Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux commands for validating ETL jobs and logs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Understand ETL requirements, data mappings, and transformation logic.
- Develop and execute test cases and test scenarios for ETL workflows.
- Perform source-to-target data validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Write SQL queries to validate and reconcile data between source and target systems.
- Validate data transformations, data loading, and ETL job execution.
- Perform data quality checks such as null checks, duplicates, and data consistency.
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA or similar defect tracking tools.
- Work with developers and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
- Support regression testing and system integration testing.
- Assist in UAT support and production validation.
