Role
Summary:
User Access Management (UAM)
The User Access Management (UAM) role is responsible for ensuring secure, accurate, and compliant management of user access across systems, applications, and data. This includes provisioning, modifying, and revoking access in alignment with business requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory standards. The role plays a critical part in minimizing security risks, maintaining audit readiness, and supporting governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Access Lifecycle Management
Handle user access provisioning, modification, and de-provisioning across multiple systems based on approved requests and defined policies.
Ensure timely access removal for terminated, transferred, or inactive users in compliance with SLAs and security standards.
Access Reviews & Reconciliation
Conduct periodic user access reviews to validate access against employee roles and responsibilities.
Perform reconciliation between HR records, internal user data, and system reports to identify discrepancies, duplicate accounts, or unauthorized access.
Data Validation & Risk Identification
Cross-check user data from multiple sources to detect anomalies and compliance gaps.
Identify and mitigate risks related to excess access, orphan accounts, or segregation of duties conflicts.
Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with business units, IT teams, and reporting managers to validate access requirements and resolve exceptions.
Obtain necessary approvals and ensure adherence to access governance processes.
Audit & Compliance Support
Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and audit evidence for internal and external reviews.
Support audit activities by providing access records, reconciliation outputs, and explanations for identified exceptions.
Issue Escalation & Governance
Escalate access-related risks, delays, or policy violations to management in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with information security policies, data privacy regulations, and organizational standards.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of:
Access control principles (Least Privilege, RBAC, Segregation of Duties)
Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and processes
Hands-on experience in:
User access reconciliation and compliance reporting
Data validation and audit support activities
Advanced proficiency in:
MS Excel (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Filters, Data Validation)
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work within strict timelines
Preferred Qualifications
3- 5 years of Experience in UAM , banking, financial services, or regulated industries
Knowledge of risk, audit, and compliance frameworks
Exposure to Identity management tools, Active Directory, Application-level access controls.
Key Objective
To ensure secure, compliant, and efficient management of user access throughout the employee lifecycle, while maintaining audit readiness and minimizing risks associated with unauthorized or inappropriate access.
