Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated  Associate Technical Architect - Platform  with a strong background in solution architecture and technical governance. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and implementation of robust platform infrastructures, ensuring they meet the highest standards of scalability, reliability, and production readiness.
As a pivotal member of the team, you will collaborate extensively with Verizon Leaders to define technical roadmaps and provide strategic oversight for complex integrations, including LLM gateways. This role demands deep expertise in system design, API governance, and modern cloud-native technologies to translate business needs into high-performance technical assets.

Roles and Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Governance:  Develop comprehensive solution architectures and ensure strict technical governance across all platform initiatives.
Architectural Oversight:  Review and approve architectural changes to ensure alignment with long-term platform stability and performance goals.
LLM Gateway Integration:  Provide expert oversight on LLM gateway integrations, ensuring secure and efficient communication between models and applications.
Production Readiness & Standards:  Define and enforce standards for observability, auditability, and production readiness to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.
Strategic

Collaboration:

Partner with Verizon Leaders to create Low-Level Design (LLD), High-Level Design (HLD), and multi-year technical roadmaps.
Stakeholder Management:  Provide daily status updates to leadership and act as the final technical escalation point for complex platform issues.
Infrastructure as Code Leadership:  Lead the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage and scale platform resources efficiently.

Skill Set Needed
Core Engineering Proficiency:  Advanced proficiency in  Python  and  FastAPI , with a deep understanding of  Pydantic  for data validation and software engineering principles.
Kubernetes Mastery:  Expert-level experience in architecting, deploying, and managing highly available clusters using  Kubernetes , including service mesh and resource management.
Infrastructure & Automation:  Proven experience with  Terraform  for Infrastructure as Code and managing  Cloud Storage  solutions.
System Design & Architecture:  Extensive experience in  System Design , including the implementation of  Redis  and  vector databases  for high-performance data retrieval.
API & Cloud Governance:  Strong background in  API Governance  and hands-on expertise in  Cloud Troubleshooting  to resolve complex infrastructure bottlenecks.
Observability & Monitoring:  Expert experience implementing comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions to ensure platform health and auditability.
Leadership & Communication:  Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive thought leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Good to Have

Experience with hybrid cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP) and MLOps platforms.
Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture design.
Knowledge of performance testing tools such as Locust.
Active contributions to open-source projects related to platform engineering.
