As the Windows Packaging Specialist for end‑to‑end software packaging, you will be the bridge between users, offshore packagers and internal IT teams. You will ensure that Windows workstation packages are validated, troubles‑hooted and deployed smoothly through Enterprise Store, SCCM and Podcom, while providing clear guidance to requestors.
Job Responsibilities
• Advise users on how to submit packaging requests (required data, approvals, documentation).
• Promote reuse of existing Enterprise Store packages to avoid duplication.
• Communicate process steps and timelines.
• Maintain a buffer for incoming requests; prioritize and track them.
• Verify completeness (source files, dependencies, licenses).
• Forward approved requests to ITGP Packaging Coordination via Enterprise Store.
• Primary contact for Fortis requestors and offshore packagers.
• Escalate blockers (license gaps, SCCM conflicts) to ITG or application owners.
• Liaise with external owners (mainly France) for Fortis‑specific packages.
• Organise functional testing of delivered packages (dependencies, SCCM compatibility ).
• Identify whether issues stem from packaging or user environment.
• Publish new/updated packages in Fortis Digital Working Store (DWS).
• Distribute via Podcom (waves or targeted lists).
• Produce installation reports for tracking/compliance.
• Assist in resolving installation‑failure incidents together with ITG.
• Process de‑commissioning of obsolete packages on client request.
• Spot recurring input‑missing or error patterns; propose optimisations.
• Keep lifecycle documentation, FAQs and how‑to guides up‑to‑date.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in Windows software packaging (MSI/EXE) and enterprise deployment (SCCM/Intune).
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, security (auth/authz) and end‑user tooling.
• Familiarity with ITIL‑based service management.
Location
Based in Chennai (or Mumbai) – hybrid work model.
