We are looking for an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) – GBS Planning to join our team in Chennai on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in materials planning, supply chain planning, inventory management, demand forecasting, and production planning within a manufacturing or EMS environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end materials planning to support production schedules and customer demand.
Ensure material availability and kit readiness for manufacturing operations.
Monitor and resolve material shortages by coordinating with procurement and sourcing teams.
Drive inventory optimization initiatives, including excess, obsolete, MRB, and slow-moving inventory management.
Analyze customer forecasts and align supply plans with demand requirements.
Manage work orders and production build plans to ensure on-time delivery.
Support BOM and ECO change management processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
Mandatory Skills (Must Have)
✔ 5+ years of experience in Material Planning / Supply Planning / Production Planning
✔ Strong knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and MPS (Master Production Scheduling)
✔ Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, or BAAN ERP systems
✔ Experience working on Kinaxis Rapid Response or similar planning tools
✔ Expertise in Inventory Management & Inventory Optimization
✔ Experience in Demand Planning, Forecast Analysis, Forecast Normalization, and Supply Planning
✔ Strong understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials) and ECO (Engineering Change Order) lifecycle management
✔ Experience managing Material Shortages, Work Orders, and Production Build Plans
✔ Manufacturing / EMS / Electronics industry experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
