Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Source and procure raw materials, fabricated metal components, structural steel, sheet metal, pipes, tubes, fasteners, bearings, and industrial hardware.
Identify and develop reliable suppliers for material handling and storage solution products such as racks, conveyors, pallets, mezzanine structures, trolleys, and automation components.
Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate contracts, and finalize purchase orders.
Ensure timely procurement of materials while maintaining quality and cost targets.
Vendor Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, pricing, and service.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments when required.
Create and maintain an approved vendor database.
Cost Optimization
Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction through alternate sourcing and value engineering.
Monitor market trends in steel, metals, and industrial materials.
Inventory & Supply Planning
Coordinate with production, engineering, and project teams to forecast material requirements.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability.
Prevent material shortages and minimize excess inventory.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare purchase orders, vendor agreements, and procurement reports.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation, and contracts.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with engineering, production, stores, quality, and finance teams.
Support project procurement activities and ensure on-time material availability.
Resolve supplier-related quality and delivery issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
3–5 years of procurement experience in metal industries, fabrication, manufacturing, automation, or material handling sectors.
Strong understanding of steel grades, fabrication processes, machining, welding, and industrial materials.
Experience in procurement of material handling and storage systems is preferred.
