Role

Summary:

The Head – Silk Saree Business will be responsible for driving sales growth, business development, category profitability, customer acquisition, and overall operational excellence of the Silk Saree division. The role requires strong expertise in silk saree merchandising, customer preferences, vendor management, and retail business expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive overall sales and profitability of the Silk Saree business vertical.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase footfall, conversions, and average bill value.
- Identify market trends, customer preferences, and emerging opportunities in the silk saree segment.
- Manage product assortment, pricing strategy, inventory planning, and stock rotation.
- Build and maintain relationships with weavers, suppliers, and vendors for sourcing premium collections.
- Lead business development initiatives including seasonal promotions, wedding collections, and festive campaigns.
- Monitor competitor activities and benchmark pricing and product offerings.
- Ensure excellent customer experience and service standards across the department.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team to achieve business targets.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports and business performance dashboards for management review.
- Coordinate with procurement, marketing, and operations teams for seamless execution.

Candidate Profile:

- 10–15 years of experience in Silk Saree retail sales and business management.
- Proven track record in achieving sales growth and category expansion.
- Strong understanding of Kanchipuram silk sarees, bridal collections, and premium saree categories.
- Experience in managing large teams in a retail environment.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Willingness to work during weekends and festive seasons as per business requirements.

Preferred Candidates:

- Candidates from leading textile and retail brands with exposure to silk saree business operations.
- Experience in handling large-format retail stores or multi-location operations will be an added advantage.
