The Best Connection Newport is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established client based in Chepstow. We are currently looking for reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Drivers to join their team and deliver metal products across South Wales and the South West region.

About the Role:

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting metals on a flatbed truck to various locations throughout South Wales and the South West. This role involves early starts with a 6:00 AM start time, Monday through Friday, providing you with a consistent and structured work schedule.

Your key duties will include securing the metal loads safely using ratchet straps to ensure everything is tightly fastened during transit. You will be trusted to handle deliveries responsibly and efficiently, maintaining the high standards our client is known for.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Operating an HGV Class 2 flatbed truck to transport metal products to various customer locations across South Wales and the South West.
• Carefully securing loads with ratchet straps to ensure safety on the road.
• Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
• Maintaining regular communication with dispatch and reporting any issues promptly.
• Conducting basic vehicle safety checks before each journey to ensure the truck is roadworthy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid HGV Class 2 license with clean driving record.
• Proven experience driving flatbed trucks or similar HGV vehicles.
• Competent in using ratchet straps and other securing equipment.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Physically capable of loading/unloading materials and securing loads.
