HGV Class 1 Driver General Haulage

HGV Class 1 Driver  General Haulage & Palletised Distribution     Description   Millison Chase Limited is currently recruiting experienced  HGV Class 1 Drivers  for ongoing  General Haulage and Palletised Distribution  work with a number of leading transport and logistics clients.
We are looking for professional  Class 1 (C+E) Drivers  to carry out deliveries and collections of palletised freight to distribution centres, manufacturing facilities, commercial premises, and warehouses throughout the UK.
Drivers will typically complete  1 to 5 drops or collections per shift , depending on route allocation, customer locations, and delivery schedules. Work is varied and may include local, regional, or nationwide routes, offering a good mix of driving and customer interaction.
Most freight is loaded and unloaded using forklift trucks; however, drivers may occasionally be required to assist with unloading using a  tail lift and electric pump truck  where customer facilities require it. Shift lengths can vary depending on route but are fully planned in accordance with  Driver's Hours Regulations ,  Working Time Directive , and all current transport legislation.

Pay & Progression     Days:  £17.00 per hour
Nights:  £18.00 per hour
Weekends:  £20.00 per hour

Responsibilities    Completing general haulage deliveries and collections
Carrying out 1 to 5 drops or collections per shift
Delivering palletised freight safely and efficiently
Operating articulated Class 1 vehicles with curtain-side or box trailers
Using a tail lift and electric pump truck when required
Carrying out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks
Completing delivery paperwork accurately
Following Driver's Hours and Tachograph Regulations
Maintaining load security throughout each journey
Providing excellent customer service at delivery locations
Operating vehicles safely and professionally at all times
Requirements    Valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
Valid Driver CPC Card
Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum 1 year's Class 1 driving experience preferred
Good understanding of load security procedures
Good communication and customer service skills
Reliable and professional attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Legal right to work in the United Kingdom and ability to provide documentation
