Overview
Schaeffer Homes – a family‑operated new‑home builder in Cherry Hill, NJ, is seeking an exceptional Land Development Manager to lead “Spot Lot” projects. We value a Beginners Mindset

- Direct all land‑lot sitework operations and oversee a compact team.
- Manage land/lot documents to prepare for construction of new homes on company and home‑buyer lots.
- Conduct “Home Site Inspections” for all home‑buyer purchasers.
- Meet with local, regional, and state building‑regulatory bodies to assess land/lot feasibility, zoning variances, and project requisites.
- Evaluate, hire, train, motivate, and, when needed, terminate sitework personnel and third‑party contractors.
- Conduct quarterly growth reviews for all direct‑reporting personnel.
- Mentor field project managers in grading and infrastructure setup, while overseeing community development endeavors.
- Communicate the mission and core values effectively to all stakeholders.
- Over five (5) years of relevant land development experience, with at least two (2) years in personnel management.
- Professional demeanor, emotional intelligence, and personal presentation.
- Profound expertise in local and regional geography, topography, and potential site‑work challenges within Schaeffer Homes domains.
- Exceptional understanding of construction practices, trade dynamics, and building codes.
- A comprehensive understanding of pivotal business metrics, benchmarks, and objectives.
- Willingness to manage conflicts professionally and objectively with home buyers, trades, and vendors.
- Capability to analyze job cost variances and safeguard profitability.
- Organizational prowess to oversee the gathering, routing, and processing of land/lot details for future endeavors up to 18 months.
- Innate comfort with mobile and small‑office technologies.
- Physical aptitude for a role predominantly off‑site, often amidst challenging conditions, including rough terrains and adverse weather.
- Prepared to successfully complete our standard assessments and background checks.
- Base pay: $100,000 / yr – $130,000 / yr
