Haley & Aldrich is seeking an Assistant Project Manager capable of serving as an Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist in a technical support role. The position is full‑time and open in our Parsippany, Princeton, Cherry Hill, Bethlehem, and Holicong offices.
In this role you will coordinate and execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, site investigations, remedial investigations, and prepare technical reports. A strong aptitude for technical writing and a solid understanding of New Jersey regulations (including SRRA, ISRA, and related programs) are essential.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES- Balance technical tasks such as field assignments, reporting, and analysis with project‑management support activities.
- Apply your understanding of technical scopes of work and project objectives to deliver quality assignments.
- Demonstrate technical competence and knowledge of NJDEP guidance and regulations on assigned tasks.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, field teams, and health‑and‑safety personnel to achieve client goals, ensuring accuracy, quality, budget, schedule, and safety requirements are met.
- Support project management with cost estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, resource allocation, project planning, task delegation, and financial management.
- Prepare and review written communications and technical deliverables.
- Engage in internal and external communications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to maintain high‑quality project execution and promote knowledge sharing.
- Lead and oversee environmental data reduction, summarization, visualization, feasibility studies, remedial design, permitting, construction, and system O&M tasks.
- Plan all work in accordance with company and client health‑and‑safety protocols.
- Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
– Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of related professional experience.
- Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in task management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and ability to learn additional software for financial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical‑writing experience preparing NJ regulatory deliverables.
- In‑depth understanding of New Jersey environmental regulations and NJDEP processes.
- OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
- Project‑management experience.
- Experience supporting Phase I and LSRP‑led projects.
Salary range for Parsippany, NJ
: $80,000 – $100,000 annually. Compensation is based on education, experience, certifications, and market conditions.
