Senior Financial & Strategic Reporting Analyst

Overview

The Senior Financial and Strategic Reporting Analyst plays a key role in delivering accurate, insightful, and actionable financial analysis to ESS’s Executive Leadership Team. This position consolidates and analyzes data from various sources, including cohort reporting, service‑type segmentation, and business unit performance, to create comprehensive monthly reports and executive dashboards. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical thinker with strong business acumen who can turn complex data into meaningful narratives that support strategic decisions across ESS’s growing national footprint.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain monthly financial and operational reporting for the Executive Team, integrating cohort, segment, and service‑type data.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, and Operations to gather, validate, and interpret performance metrics.
  • Create clear, executive‑ready reports that highlight trends, variances, and strategic insights.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to inform planning and reviews.
  • Build and enhance dashboards and automated reports using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for efficiency, cost control, and revenue performance.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional projects that improve reporting accuracy and data consistency.
  • Prepare summaries and materials for monthly Executive and Board‑level presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, data analytics, or a related field required; MBA or professional certification (CPA, CFA, FP&A) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or strategic reporting, ideally in a multi‑segment or service‑based organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros);
    Power BI or Tableau experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear visuals and executive summaries.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
