Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented and motivated Supervisor, Microbiology. In this role, you will supervise microbiologists performing pharmaceutical microbiological procedures, ensure accuracy of test results and raw data, and oversee compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Control the workflow of the microbiology laboratory, including supervising, planning, and directing activities for production, stability program, technical services, and R&D.
- Enforce policies and procedures, ensuring testing techniques and documentation meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
- Oversee instrument and equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and validation studies.
- Prepare and revise SOPs, change controls, and regulatory documents to maintain compliance.
- Recommend staffing, support cross‑training, evaluate performance, and manage development plans.
- Investigate and resolve deviations and root causes, preparing timely reports.
- Interact with FDA and other regulatory/audit groups, applying GLP and GMP principles.
- BS with 7 years of pharmaceutical microbiology experience, or MS with 5 years of experience.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent organizational, project management, writing, computer, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Working knowledge of FDA regulations, GLP, and GMP, and experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
- Experience in pharmaceutical microbiology for injectable or aseptic manufacturing.
Base salary $66,600 to $133,075 annually, determined during the interview process based on location, experience, and other factors.
