• Completes thorough and accurate initial assessment and establishes appropriate plan of care for each patient as prescribed by physician.
• Utilizes appropriate and accurate diagnostic/prognostic musculoskeletal, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
• Implements appropriate treatment utilizing ADL training, ROM, fine motor activities, functional mobility, therapeutic exercise, and patient/family education.
• Educates patient and caregivers in use and care of therapeutic equipment, assistive devices, orthotic and prosthetic devices.
• Provides patient education in all areas of rehab plan to maximize independence and efficiency.
• Adapts plan of care as needed to ensure optimum benefit.
• Documents initial evaluation, daily treatment, reassessment, discharge and supplementary documentation thoroughly.
• Participates in multidisciplinary treatment and discharge planning, attends care plan meetings.
• Directs and supervises OATs, rehab aides, students, and other support personnel as indicated by state licensure.
• Other duties as assigned.

• BS or MS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Valid and current New Jersey State Occupational Therapy license, and registration with NOBoT.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and caretakers regarding treatment plan and expected outcome.
