In this role, the CMIO leverages significant leadership presence and diplomacy to obtain appropriate balance between standardization and provider personalization. As an IS&T representative to the provider community, the ACMIO is often the key advocate to message the why and how a certain technology advances productivity, quality, and wellbeing, and does so through various committees, clinical initiatives, as well as significant and frequent informal interactions.

The ACMIO relies on strong clinical experience and must use analytical skills, creativity, and problem solving to help the organization build the information technology for today and the future.
