Malamut Law is seeking a skilled and motivated Labor & Employment Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience representing public and private sector management clients in labor and employment disputes and a strong commitment to workplace justice.
Responsibilities- Represent employers in labor and employment matters, including wage and hour claims, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and FMLA/ADA issues, and claims unique to public sector employment.
- Handle traditional labor law matters including collective bargaining negotiations, investigations, and grievances.
- Regular employer counseling for a wide variety of employment / labor law related issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.
- Manage cases from intake through resolution.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
- Contribute to case strategy and firm growth.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing in New Jersey mandatory. Pennsylvania or New York a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in labor and employment law.
- Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a team.
- Commitment to client-centered representation.
- Trial or arbitration experience.
- Employment Counseling Experience.
- Experience with federal and state employment laws.
- Salary of $80,000 to $150,000 depending on experience and defined role.
