• Supervise staff in accordance with policies, procedures, industry standards of practice, JC standards, and per direction of the Director.
• Assist in scrub and circulator roles as needed.
• Oversee supply and equipment requirements for cases.
• Coordinate orientation plans for new staff.
• Assist in the evaluation process of staff members in the OR.
• Manage staff timekeeping.
• Manage projects as assigned by the Director.

• Education:
  
  Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing. BSN degree preferred.
• Certification:
  Current Texas RN License; BLS current, ACLS and PALS required, must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

• Three (3) years’ experience in surgery as circulator and scrub tech preferred.
• Two (2) years’ experience in surgery management as a service coordinator or charge position preferred.

• Independent decision making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
• Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
• Knowledge of TDH, Medicare and the Joint Commission rules & regulations.
• Ability to make independent sound nursing and management decisions.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and plans for special age specific needs of surgical patients and their families.
• Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation, chart audit and other reviews.
