Position Summary

Responsible for supporting the Store Manager regarding all aspects of the retail store including sales, customer service, operations, human resources, training, visual merchandising, loss prevention.

• Customer Service:
  Ensure each customer receives the highest level of customer service.
• Human Resources:
  Notify Manager of hiring needs/floor coverage shortage;
  Assist in finding new employees;
  Understand and communicate company discount policy;
  Assist in controlling payroll budget;
  Schedule staff efficiently;
  Assist with staff scheduling;
  Understand progressive discipline procedures;
  Follow corrective action process fairly and document corrective actions;
  Stay constantly aware of loss prevention;
  Share ideas from staff and customers with Manager;
  Understand details of upcoming promotions;
  Make deposits correctly and ensure paperwork is accurate;
  Know correct opening and closing procedures;
  Know correct procedure for reconciling cash drawer;
  Follow correct refund procedures;
  Document petty cash/safe money;
  Ensure accuracy regarding merchandise received and shipped;
  Conduct regular spot checks on inventory;
  Ensure displays are clean and current;
  Ensure selling floor maintained, organized and set per guidelines;
  Manage daily activity of sales floor, backroom, and cash register area per company policy.

• High school or equivalent
• One or more years of store management experience in a retail environment
