We are looking for an experienced Estimator / Buyer with a construction background to join a well-established and successful business.
This is a hands-on, office-based role responsible for estimating, preparing quotations, sourcing materials and managing purchasing for a range of construction projects.
You will be involved from the initial customer enquiry through to procurement, delivery and completion, working closely with customers, suppliers and contractors.
Responsibilities- Preparing estimates, quotations and project costings
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and customer requirements
- Sourcing materials and obtaining supplier quotations
- Negotiating prices and lead times
- Raising and managing purchase orders
- Monitoring costs and project budgets
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and customers
- Coordinating materials and deliveries
Managing changes to specifications and costs - Supporting projects through to completion
You will have previous experience within construction or a closely related industry, with a strong background in estimating, purchasing or both.
This role would particularly suit someone from a construction, fit-out, refurbishment, interiors, building products or specialist subcontracting background.
You will ideally have:- Estimating and/or buying experience within construction
- Good commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience dealing with suppliers and subcontractors
- The ability to understand drawings and specifications
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence dealing directly with customers and suppliers
- Good Microsoft Office skills
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
