We are seeking a Matron in Acute Medicine for the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) division.
The successful candidate will join an established Matron team, supported by a Head of Nursing/AHPs as part of the UEC senior nursing team. We are looking for an individual with excellent management, clinical, and leadership skills to support the workforce in UEC. This role will specifically involve leading and managing the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) and the Clinical Assessment Unit (CAU).
Acute Medicine is a fast‑paced, multi‑specialty division with a varied patient demographic. It heavily relies on teamwork with other divisions in the poly‑specialty environment of SDEC and CAU to support the flow of the Emergency Department and the wider Trust. Our goal is to ensure patients are in the right place the first time, with a focus on providing a caring and safe environment.
This Matron position seeks a Senior Nurse with significant post‑registration qualification experience in Leadership and Staff Management. The post holder will be required to strike an effective balance between management and clinical responsibilities. The post provides the opportunity to lead on patient safety and experience with additional focus on nursing and service development.
