Job summary

The postholder will

Be responsible for the organisation and day to day running of surgical and oncology clinical trials at Ashford & St Peters NHS Hospital Trust. Support and assist with the general activities and research trials within the designated department.

Provide a high quality of service and care for staff and patients, external organisations and institutes involved in research activities.

Provide advice and support for patients and health care staff regarding the on-going care of research participants.

Be a resource within the Trust regarding advice and information on the clinical trials

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate patient-centred care, including providing research based evidence to develop clinical policies and practice
  • Measure and record treatment outcomes
  • Request and interpret results of various tests
  • Make independent professional decisions and be accountable for them
  • Manage patient clinics within a studies requirement
  • Inform study patients GPs of their participation in a clinical trial, liaising with the GP as necessary
