The adjunct faculty member is responsible for teaching courses to which he/she has specific training or competence. Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote student learning in classroom, remote via Zoom, or online environment. Engages students outside class via office hours and provides thorough, timely feedback on mastery of course learning outcomes.
Functional Responsibilities- Responsible for creating a learning environment that facilitates students' acquisition of knowledge and skills in a discipline and/or program.
- Aligns course activities with student learning outcomes; uses active learning strategies and appropriate technology; provides prompt and meaningful feedback.
- Delivers instruction supporting stated learning outcomes; adheres to college policies; conducts meaningful assessments; analyzes prior semester instruction; implements action plans.
- Possibly work during the day, evening, and/or weekend as determined by course(s) assigned.
- Hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in teaching field or Associate's in the teaching field with demonstrated competency.
- Two years of related work experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in electronic format.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems.
- Knowledge of proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Candidates should possess sufficient technology skills to work productively with significant information and instructional technology resources.
