Electric Power Generation; Epg Rental Technician

Sign-on Bonus: $2,000 (payable in two installments: $1,000 after 90 days, and $1,000 after 180 days)

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician. The role involves servicing, diagnosing, and repairing EPG rental equipment including power, temperature control, air, pumps, and used equipment at Carter or customer facilities.

• Service and repair Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, UPS, and paralleling systems.
• Perform product improvement plans on various equipment.
• Support rental equipment in the field independently.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engine failures and electrical generator systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote a positive customer experience.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience with UPS, parallels, and electrical generator systems.
• Thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Availability for after-hours emergency service (24/7/365).
• Ability to work additional hours and travel, including out of town and out of country.
• Experience with electronic software applications.
• Excellent driving record; ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification.

• Lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 70 pounds.
