A well-established systems integration firm is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its growing automation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects from initial design through field installation and commissioning, supporting clients in the water/wastewater and manufacturing sectors.
This position is ideal for a motivated controls professional with systems integration experience who is looking for long-term career growth within a stable and technically diverse organization.
Key Responsibilities- Design automation and control systems based on customer and project specifications
- Program and configure PLC and HMI/SCADA systems
- Specify electrical equipment and instrumentation including PLC hardware, control components, and field devices
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics and P&
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues during development and commissioning
- Design, implement, and debug SCADA and data acquisition systems
- Power-up, test, calibrate, and commission control systems for water/wastewater, manufacturing, and industrial applications
- Support standardized design practices, documentation, and internal processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent automation experience
- 2+ years of hands‑on PLC and HMI/SCADA programming experience
- Experience programming PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Modicon, or similar
- Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms such as Factory Talk, Ignition, Wonderware, VTSCADA, or similar
- Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills (480
VAC 3‑phase, 120
VAC, 24
VDC, VFDs) - Experience with motor starters, variable frequency drives, and industrial control components
- Familiarity with process instrumentation (flow, pressure, level transmitters preferable)
- Working knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEEE).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
