Interface Engineer (Engineer
3) - 25200 is a role within Mission Technologies, a division of HII. This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS). Mission Technologies’ GS group provides live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business. HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise and supports the U.S. Navy and other clients across lifecycle maritime defense systems.
This position is contingent upon contract award.

What You Will Do- Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
- Review engineering drawings and documentation on CI/NDI and MILSPEC equipment.
- Senior lead to Interface with equipment In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEA), Combat Systems Engineering Agents (CSEA) and Software Support Activities (SSA) as required.
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field. 4 years of additional equivalent experience can be substituted for a BA/BS
- Candidate must be a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering or graduating college senior who is in good academic standing and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required prior to starting employment.
- Candidate must have experience resolving interface design problems.
- Candidate must have experience with components and systems interface through cables.
- Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience in resolving element, multi-element, and weapon or combat system hardware, interface, and interoperability issues.
- Experience with selecting cable types, understanding shipboard cabling standards and requirements for interface of electrical/electronic components, and development of cable run sheets in addition to cable/connector selections based on interface requirements.
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
