Job Title

Mechanical Engineer 5 (Industrial/Process)

• Creates engineering designs with general direction.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
• Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Contributes to the firm’s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special‑case designs and studies.
• Submits technical papers and designs for publication to technical journals.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to client RFPs.
• Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
• Meets with current and potential clients to review their design needs.
• Attends conferences and symposia to enhance the firm’s visibility with sales staff.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff.
• Mentors junior staff and develops them for future growth.
• May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• Seven (7) years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

• EPC project experience for industrial/petrochemical clients focused on process and utility piping, process mechanical, and material handling systems.
• Familiarity with CAESAR, Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit), and Bluebeam.
• Experience developing equipment data sheets, package specifications, technical bid tabs, and RFQs.

• Expert knowledge of computer‐assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
