Overview
Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) GMWS Technician role at TMMG, Inc. A Company Background Investigation, CAC, US Citizenship, and a secret security clearance are required for this position.
The RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) is a small, lightweight, infrared-homing surface-to-air missile. The RAM Mk 31 Guided Missile Weapon System (GMWS) comprises RAM, Mk 49 GMLS, and support equipment. On U.S. ships, it is integrated with the AN/SWY-2 Ship Defense Surface Missile System (SDSMS) and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) Mk 1 or Mk 2-based combat systems.
This position is initially a TEMPORARY POSITION for January 2026 through October 2026. Successful completion of this initial temporary task may lead to a follow-on, full-time position.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain the RAM GMWS at the organizational level, including preventive and corrective maintenance, fault analysis, troubleshooting, realignment, and repairs of individual components and the system.
- Provide support for equipment removal and relocation, and support Fleet Modernization requirements, including site surveys and work in restricted areas.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and developing modernization efforts, including project plans, POA&Ms, and modernization tasking; participate in in-briefings, coordination meetings, peer reviews, and product teams.
- Review and provide input on modernization documents, including Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), installation plans, and Installation Requirements Manuals.
- Develop Fleet Modernization requirements, including installation drawings, site surveys, ship checks, and master material lists.
- Procure, repair, kit, assemble, fabricate, receive, ship, and transport parts and materials.
- Support material management activities: logging, inventory, tracking, verifying receipts, and supporting modernization teams; manage inventory and materials for peripheral modernization items (cables, junction boxes, power panels, foundations, labels).
- Support post-modernization installation, checkout, and closeout activities, including technical refreshes, software upgrades for training systems, and modifications to shipboard C2/weapon system subsystems and Field Changes.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the RAM weapon system during fleet CSSQT, DT, OT, and ET on fleet platforms as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years as an Enlisted Fire Control Technician (NEC V10A)
- Minimum of 4 years of shipboard experience
- Must possess a secret clearance or be able to obtain a secret clearance
- Strong communication skills for briefing at all levels and ability to work in a team environment
- Analytical skills to track, manage, and status multiple technical issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and time management skills
