Job Description- Creates engineering designs with general direction.
- Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.
- Ensures firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
- Performs site reviews and studies to ensure designs align with location specifications.
- Updates design requirements as necessary.
- Contributes to the firm’s TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special‑case designs and studies.
- Submits technical papers and designs for publication to technical journals.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to client RFPs.
- Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meets with current and potential clients to review their design needs.
- Attends conferences and symposia to enhance the firm’s visibility with sales staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Mentors junior staff and develops them for future growth.
- May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- Seven (7) years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- EPC project experience for industrial/petrochemical clients focused on process and utility piping, process mechanical, and material handling systems.
- Familiarity with CAESAR, Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit), and Bluebeam.
- Experience developing equipment data sheets, package specifications, technical bid tabs, and RFQs.
- Expert knowledge of computer‐assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
