We are seeking an experienced, reliable payroll specialist to join our team. In this role, you will actively engage in payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. You will work in a high‑volume office, processing payroll for 210,000+ employees. You will work collaboratively and with a team of skilled professionals in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, demonstrating precision and expertise to maximize efficiency and productivity.

About Your Role
  • Consistently and accurately assist with processing payroll for 210,000+ employees including time adjustments, entries, bonus and special payments within required time frames and ensuring validation and accuracy through utilization of audit reports.
  • Edit and review Compass/Kronos time records for discrepancies and adjust accordingly.
  • Calculate and process retroactive pay.
  • Process off–cycle checks, replacement checks and pay‑outs ensuring accurate recordation, record keeping and calculation in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Update banking institution data accordingly.
  • Assist in banking matters.
  • Verify benefit time accruals and ensure accurate payment in accordance with state regulations.
  • Assist all customers with payroll inquiries – both phone and email (30–50 emails per day).
  • Maintain payroll policies that comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to internal controls, including SOX compliance.
  • Show strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Provide support and assist in training of new payroll associates.
  • Provide support to garnishment and tax specialty areas as needed.
  • Assist the Payroll Processing Manager and Director with special projects as requested.
  • Interest in learning new skills and platforms as needed for new process‑improvement projects.
  • Partner effectively with payroll team members and business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Multi‑state payroll processing experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written), interpret, reason, read, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, coordinate, compile, instruct, and maintain emotional control during highly stressful times.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • 2‑5 years payroll experience.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Knowledge of software including Excel, Microsoft Word, email, and comfort with software applications on a PC.
Preferred Requirements
  • Correctly calculate hours worked for FLSA requirements.
  • Payroll certification (CPP or FPC).
  • Workday payroll experience.
