Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Home Health Aide.

Position Status: Full Time - Day Shift

Position Location: Sentara Hospice Services - Chesapeake, VA

Pay Range: $15.75 - $20.46 / hour

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Utilizes safety precautions when caring for patients with specialized needs (oxygen, IV, tubes, drains, wounds and dressings). Monitors and records elimination patterns and reports any concerns to the appropriate clinician. Provides care to prevent pressure ulcers by turning, positioning and skin care. Completes all departmental documentation and recognizes deviations in vital signs. Provides specific care that supports psychosocial functioning, demonstrates active listening, and offers emotional support during times of stress.

Assists patients with feeding, ADLs, transfers, ambulation, infection control, nutritional support and ensures a neat and tidy work area.

• CNA (Required)
• First Aid Basics (Required)
• BLS (Required within 90 days)

• Basic and routine patient care
• Personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and feeding
• Intake/output
• Ambulation
• Assisting patients with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the home
