Teen Services Director

The Teen Services Director is responsible for ensuring implementation of teen programs and developing local resources for teens ages 13-18 that foster workforce readiness at our Teen Center in Chesapeake, VA. This role ensures that teen members have access to high quality, trauma informed programming that fosters positive identity, education, social, emotional and cultural competencies that prepare them for post-secondary planning.

Additionally, this role is responsible for training of teen staff, community relations, program reporting, recruitment and alumni engagement.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Provide vision and oversight of programs for ages 13-18 that support planning for leadership development, self-advocacy, college planning and workforce readiness. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and best practices. Interpret and ensure organizational policies and procedures are being followed in working with teens.

Analyze and refine services as needed to meet the needs of members and organizational goals.

Ensure that members are participating in programs.

Develop and meet targeted measurements and outcomes that show member achievement.

Aligning teen programming with SEVA's strategic plan, BGCA requirements and workforce best practices.

Hold staff, volunteers and contractors accountable for all policies and procedures.

Participate in internal and external meetings as needed.

Operation of Teen Center

Manage daily operations, staffing, budgeting, facility and member services.

Oversee staff and program scheduling.

Stay within budget guidelines and monitor.

Supervise and ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained facility.

Coach and train staff as needed.

Coordinate logistics for programs, transportation and member services.

Recruit and retain targeted membership of 100 in the 1st year and increase by 10% each year.

Consistent attendance and participation and the meeting the minimum of 40 members daily.

Secure and manage materials, staff, and resources needed to achieve program goals.

Manage program staff, partnerships and vendors supporting career readinessp>

Program Management and Development

Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of all programs.

Ensure programs adhere to BGCSEVA and BGCA standards, safety protocols and contract requirements

Design, implement and evaluate career readiness programs.

Monitor programmatic contracts, vendor agreements for compliance and performance.

Partnerships & Community Engagement

Build and sustain partnerships that expand career readiness opportunities for teens and engage families and the community.

Cultivate strategic relationships with external partners, school districts, employers and community organizations.

Represent BGCSEVA in workforce readiness coalitions and community networks.

Lead family and community engagement efforts related to teen career readiness.

Serve as a public ambassador for BGCSEVA's mission and programming.

Data, Evaluation & Impact

Track, analyze and report on program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and accountability.

Manage program evaluation and use data to inform continuous improvement and measure impact.

Track member progress using My Club Hub  and other evaluation tools (if needed).

Prepare reports for leadership, board and funders as needed.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders and facility management.
