Perdue Agri Business has an immediate opening for an Industrial Electromechanical Maintenance Technician at our facility in Chesapeake, VA
. The essential function of this position is to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance to ensure the reliability of our Agri Business assets.

• Installs, repairs and maintains machinery by utilizing both electrical and mechanical skills and knowledge
• Performs electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance plans to ensure the reliability of assets
• Install and diagnose basic electric circuits and PLC controlled equipment
• Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, power transmission systems, and other production-related equipment
• Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Completing and submitting maintenance reports and preventive maintenance logs

• High School or equivalent
• Electrical or mechanical education or training is preferred

• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
• Experience welding, Mig and Stick
• Experience with power transmission systems, pumping systems, conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication skills
• Good time management skills

Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. May need to move equipment occasionally. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. When in a plant environment: exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
