Position

Summary

Supervise personnel in the Production Department and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and technical and housekeeping standards. Direct and coordinate all production efforts and scheduling assigned. Identify problems in the production flow and ensure that necessary labor, material or support is applied to relieve the issue. Resolve technical questions and issues associated within production responsibilities. Interface with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Frequent travel and overtime may be required. Strong analytical and personnel management skills required.

Duties And Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Comply to 'Supervisors Standards' the production assignments and guide personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Interface with customers to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Schedule, prioritize and control production within your production task/jobs to ensure that production deadlines are met, and manpower is optimized. Coordinate the production schedule with the work scheduler and other department supervisors.
  • Ensure economy and accountability in the expenditure of man-hours and material.
  • Recommend and/or make improvements in equipment or production methods.
  • Comply with safety procedures and regulations as required to ensure safety of your production personnel. Maintain adherence to good housekeeping practices and safety guidelines in accordance with OII-MSD safety policies.
  • Provide technical advice and interpretation of drawings, schematics, MIL-STDs, SUBSAFE requirements, production processes, etc., to production personnel.
  • Coordinate the deployment of trades personnel to forward work sites. Ensure personnel are properly prepared (e.g., required safety equipment, manuals, drawings, material, tools, QA paperwork, etc.).
  • Ensure required production documentation is completed and filed properly (e.g., Time Sheets, Travel Claims, QA Inspection Documentation (OQE), Material Purchase Order Requests, etc.).
  • Provide production status for all assignments to the PM/APM for discussion at the weekly meetings (e.g. Scheduling and Management).
  • Conduct performance evaluations of assigned personnel. Working with HR and the Resource Dept., take proper and judicious disciplinary measures and handle grievances when required.
  • Ensure all equipment issued to production personnel is safe and properly maintained. Ensure pack-out list are issued to the tool room for away work sites. Ensure personnel returning from forward work sites return tools to the tool room and any broken tools are reported to the Tool Room Attendant.
  • Ensure pre and post job briefs are held to discuss items of concern. Ensure all departments are invited and direct any department to attend if issues affect them.
  • Ensure that Trade employees assigned receive any material that was not shipped with tool and equipment. Receive completed JML from purchasing after completion to ensure any late material will not affect work completion schedules.
  • Review OII work packages (REC, CWP and FWP) prior to opening to ensure the full scope of work is identified for assigned task. This shall include adding any special reference readings required for system reinstallation and/or certification.
