Description:
The RN will work in a Neuro ICU setting. Shift hours are 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. The RN will be required to perform charting using the EPIC system. The RN will have a patient ratio of 1:2. Weekend coverage may be required every other weekend or six shifts in a six-week block. The RN must be prepared to work at least one holiday during the 13-week contract.
Experience in cardiac monitoring and emergency response is necessary. The RN will manage medications including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. The role includes managing neuro-specific conditions such as CVA and neurosurgery cases. Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care are required. The RN will assist with external ventricular drains, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery management.
Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients are essential. Floating to other units within skillset may be expected. This position requires an individual committed to high standards of patient care and teamwork.
