# Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – VirginiaStart Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week assignment, nights, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend, every other holiday (must work 2 of 3 winter holidays)Highlights:

• High-volume perinatal unit with approximately 2,000 annual deliveries serving both low-risk and high-risk maternal populations
• State-of-the-art unit featuring 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Cross-training opportunities to Mother/Baby unit with potential float to NICU for feeder/grower care
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with 36-hour orientation period to support successful onboarding
• Collaborative team environment caring for diverse patient populations including certified nurse midwife patients and maternal fetal medicine cases

Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted if obtained by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Required
  
  Certifications:
  
  BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, AWHONN Intermediate
• Epic charting system experience required
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Ability to circulate for cesarean sections (required skill)
• Proficiency in high-risk antepartum care, triage of obstetrical patients, neonatal resuscitation, and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• BSN preferred
