Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Central Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Float pool position rotating through various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Med-Surg, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Comprehensive patient ratios: PICU 1:2, NICU/ICN 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, variable in Pediatric ED based on acuity
• Epic EMR system utilized across all units
• 60 hours of orientation provided to support successful transition
• Access to robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and child life specialists
• Up to 40 hours of approved time off available (not permitted during first 2 weeks of assignment)

Requirements:

• Current Virginia RN license (may submit with pending license; must be active by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required; must also have NICU experience and be comfortable with general pediatrics
• Epic charting system experience required
• Active certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS (all required)
• Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted as pending; $185 cost)
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Professional references required
