American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a high-volume post-surgical unit, requiring an active VA or compact RN license and at least two years of recent experience.

• Post-surgical Med/Surg Tele unit caring for urology and GYN surgical populations
• Typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30), with 3x12 or 4x12 options available
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, no exceptions
• Minimum of two years of recent relevant Med/Surg Tele experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Proficiency in Epic required
• Previous charge experience and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Experienced in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Competent in wound care, tracheostomy care, oxygen administration, and renal failure management
• No history of license or background hits permitted
• No history of fit test issues permitted, PAPR accommodation not available
• EKG proficiency testing required with a minimum score of 80%, one attempt only with no remediation
• Valid driver's license required for address verification prior to offer acceptance

• Care for post-surgical patients in a high-volume Med/Surg Tele unit
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Requested time off must be submitted in advance and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Three hours of billable orientation modules required prior to start, completed before first shift
• First-time travelers are not required but will be considered if experience requirements are met
