American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a post-surgical unit, requiring 2+ years of recent experience and proficiency in Epic.

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) with 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options
• High-volume post-surgical unit caring for urology and GYN surgical populations
• Typical patient ratio of 1:7
• Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum of two years of recent relevant experience required
• Proficiency in Epic required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care, and rapid response/code team participation
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin protocols
• Current driver's license required for address verification prior to offer acceptance

• Provide telemetry-based nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response on a busy post-surgical unit
• EKG proficiency testing required, consisting of 16 questions on rhythm interpretation and interval measurements with an 80% passing score and no remediation offered
• Approximately 3 hours of pre-start orientation modules required
• Facility cannot accommodate PAPR respirators; any history of fit test issues will disqualify candidates
• Candidates with any prior license or background check issues will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
