Sales Clerk Leader | Salary: $16.50/hour

Location:

Chesapeake, VA

• Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge and assist in merchandise selection.
• Provide outstanding customer service and efficiently resolve customer concerns.
• Overall operations of sales department; order merchandise, price and monitor stock levels.
• Assist team in training employees on cash register and front‑end duties; input on employee evaluations.
• Operate cash register, accept cash, checks, credit cards; prepare and verify change funds; collect receipts; reconcile register tapes with Daily Activity Report.
• Control and secure change fund, safe and cash registers; maintain cash overage and shortage records.
• Key carrier duty: opening and closing the store as required.
• Direct/supervise other employees and may be responsible for overall store in absence of management.
• Follow loss prevention policies and be proactive regarding shrink and Alert Line.
• Work weekends and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
• Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds; stand for long periods of time.

• Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.
• Previous retail supervisory experience in the performance of the above referenced duties.
• Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience as a USCG NAF sales clerk.
