Overview

• Performs electrical and electromechanical repairs.
• Assists with conducting system grooms and checkouts and configuration validation.
• Prepares and installs systems alterations.
• Follow detailed repair procedures and instructions required to complete electrical production operations.
• Perform installation, repair, overhaul or modification of shipboard or in shop electrical or electromechanical systems and components.
• Perform component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose problems.
• Assist with on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation.
• Prepare and install equipment or system alterations in accordance with technical specifications.
• Perform shipboard work for electrical system/component evaluations.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• High School/GED with Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses or technical school graduate; and/or military and/or civilian experience with marine electrical systems in a repair department or shipyard.
• Must have the ability to obtain government base access.
• Knowledge and practical skills tests required.
• Fiber Optic Splicing, Deep Submergence Systems (SOC MCD A, B, and
  
  C), SUBSAFE Qualification.
• Fiber Optic, Cable Way Certification and Connector Fabrication experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret/Confidential security clearance.
• Must be a US citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75%.
